"Jesus Christ is Victorious" is the proclamation of the Greek, IC XC NIKA, on this Byzantine coin of the 11th century A.D. NIKA or NIKE also has the meanings overcome, conquer, prevail. Jesus has already been victorious over Satan. At the end times Satan's followers "will make war against the Lamb [Jesus], but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings--and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers." (Revelation 17:14)
Those followers "overcame him [Satan] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death." (Revelation 12:11)
