Educational background: B.S. in astrophysics (1966, University of Rochester, New York), Ph.D. in atmospheric science (1971, State University of New York at Albany), continuing education in geology (early 1990s, Colorado School of Mines).
Employment: Atmospheric research scientist, C.S.I.R.O., Division of Cloud Physics, Epping, NSW, Australia 1971-1974. Research meteorologist, Research physical scientist, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Denver, Colorado, U.S.A., 1974 to 2005. Work has been in weather modification research and remote sensing. Some college and university instructing. Recently designed the snow accumulation software for the NEXRAD radar system in the U.S.A. Most popular demonstration is the "instant snowstorm" which makes it snow in a classroom setting. Remote sensing research is mostly in the area of mapping noxious weeds. Supplemental work was teaching graduate courses in remote sensing and image processing at the University of Denver 1999 to 2016.
