Alexandria is a large city in the Nile Delta of Egypt. It had a large Jewish population in Biblical times. Jews from Alexandria debated Stephen (Acts 6:9). Alexandria was the birthplace of Apollos (Acts 18:24). Ships from Alexandria carried Paul on his journey to Rome (Acts 27:6, 28:11).
