When this coin (king with dagger and bow) began to be issued the walls of Jerusalem were rebuilt (444 B.C.) under Nehemiah and Jewish society was reorganized under Ezra. Thereafter there appeared to be a more genuine devotion to God and to the Law (=Torah) than before the Exile. Several books of the Bible were written or put in final form during these years, including Ezra, Nehemiah, 1&2 Chronicles, Malachi, and parts of Psalms.
Coins of this design were issued from about 450 to 330 B.C.
