The Solomonid Dynasty ended with a coup against Haile Selassie in 1974. More recently his capital buildings have been turned into a park and museum. We visited his collection of vehicles and train cars and toured rooms of gifts he received from foreign contacts.

The white building is the Palace. (Ignore the rear skyscraper.)
